Prosciutto simply translates as ham in Italian. It differs to the ham we know as it is very thinly sliced, dry-cured but served uncooked. Prosciutto is taken from the hind leg.

Serving suggestion: It is wonderful eaten as is, combined with melon or olives as an appetizer or thrown into a simple pasta dish.
